Factory Differential: Standard 02–04 RSX Type-S models came equipped with an open differential.
The “Factory LSD” Exception: A factory helical LSD was only standard on the JDM Integra Type R (DC5), which shared the K20A engine. Many owners swap the JDM Type R transmission or the LSD itself from a 2006–2011 Civic Si into the RSX Type-S casing.
Gearing: The 02–04 Type-S features a 4.389 final drive, which is taller than the 4.764 found in the 05–06 Type-S and late-model Civic Si.
